County of Wellington Establish Framework for Project Management with BrightWork

The County of Wellington, a midsize government organization in Ontario, needed a formal project management framework to improve visibility into project status, task tracking and team collaboration while using a tool that could grow with their maturity. They engaged BrightWork and deployed the BrightWork Start | Evolve template-based approach on BrightWork Online to support varying levels of project management across their IT department.

BrightWork implemented a three-tier structure (projects rolling up to Application Services and Technology Services portfolios and the IT PMO) and provided templates and reporting to rapidly raise the County’s project management maturity. The County gained task-level visibility and week-to-week status tracking, cut per-project status report time from hours to minutes and reduced portfolio reporting from a day to about half an hour, and is now moving to BrightWork’s Project Request Manager to formalize intake—delivering clear, measurable efficiency and oversight improvements.
