A Brightspot Case Study
Univision, the largest provider of Spanish‑language content in the United States, faced a collapsing legacy CMS that caused malfunctioning ad integrations, inefficient publishing and heavy dependence on IT while serving millions of Hispanic Americans across broadcast, cable, radio and digital properties. To modernize its digital operations and support 500+ daily CMS users, Univision adopted Brightspot’s CMS, moving to headless implementations beginning in 2019.
Brightspot consolidated 70+ Univision sites into a single instance with shared content, roles, permissions and integrations, enabling content‑once publishing, localized experiences at scale and front‑end flexibility independent of the back end. The Brightspot implementation delivered measurable gains — 150% CMS user growth in five years, support for 725 requests per second, zero IT overhead for site admins, and the ability to scale for global events like the 2022 FIFA World Cup — while giving Univision’s dev teams full control to customize and extend the platform.
