The American Institute of Physics (AIP) partnered with Brightspot and digital consultancy Mod Op to overhaul a fragmented content strategy across its publishing and communications operations. AIP needed a more consistent, scalable way to manage content, improve governance, and support its strategic goal of becoming a trusted, future-ready source of information for the physical sciences.
Brightspot’s CMS provided AIP with standardized templates, stronger permissions, shared taxonomy, and custom content types and integrations for awards, government bills, budgets, and research content. The results were significant: one editorial team reduced publishing from 13 systems to one, workflows dropped from 13 to 3, and editors saved up to two hours per week each—equivalent to nearly one full-time employee in efficiency gains.
