POLITICO, a global political news organization averaging 25 million monthly unique visitors and 114 million monthly page views, needed a more robust, flexible editorial CMS to support a fast-paced newsroom, hundreds of publishers, and multiple brands (including POLITICO Pro and Agency IQ). Working with Brightspot and its Brightspot CMS, POLITICO sought to simplify complex content workflows, improve syndication and asset management, and deliver customized, real‑time content across devices.

Brightspot upgraded POLITICO to Brightspot CMS version 4 and implemented a unified article model, a centralized content repository, new syndication controls, Slack alerts, federated search for AP and Getty assets, and SSO/subscription management. The migration moved 190K articles, now supports 300+ content publishers and thousands of newsletters, and enabled faster page launches, greater content reuse, and smoother editorial workflows — helping POLITICO deliver personalized, real‑time news to every user on any device.
