A BrightSign Case Study
UCL University College in Denmark sought to transform its traditional classroom learning by creating realistic, immersive training environments for its 5,000 students without the cost and logistics of offsite travel. Their challenge was to build an audiovisual simulation system within a single small room that could instantly change settings and provide matching ambient sounds, with a key focus on usability, functionality, and synchronization. They partnered with vendor BrightSign to achieve this vision.
The solution, implemented by integrator Schmidts Radio, used BrightSign’s XC5 as the central control hub to manage projectors, lighting, and audio. This created a system where instructors can seamlessly switch between six different simulated environments, like a hospital or a forest, at the touch of a button. The BrightSign-powered technology resulted in more efficient and flexible teaching, enhanced skill retention for students, and has generated tremendous interest from other institutions, significantly boosting UCL's reputation for innovative education.
