A BrightSign Case Study
Pale Night Productions, a St. Louis–based designer of haunted house effects, was tasked with delivering reliable, high‑impact video scares for the Oregon School for the Deaf’s annual haunted house — the school’s single largest fundraiser — and for a segment on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. To meet tight installation, reliability and interactivity requirements, Pale Night selected BrightSign controllers, deploying a BrightSign HD410 interactive player and a BrightSign HD110 dynamic looping player to drive the haunted house video effects.
Pale Night integrated the BrightSign HD410 to trigger the “Wall Crawl” via a mat-switch on the HD410’s GPIO and used the HD110 to loop the “Spectra‑Scope” on an old CRT, benefiting from BrightSign’s solid‑state, fanless design, full‑HD output, compact form and easy programming. The BrightSign solution delivered dependable, high‑quality effects featured on national TV, allowed Pale Night to sell over a hundred BrightSign‑driven effects to major attractions, and — according to Pale Night — they “haven’t had a single player returned,” demonstrating measurable reliability and fundraising impact.
