PAI Brings retail theatre to Nickelodeon flagship

Nickelodeon needed an immersive audio-visual retail experience for its European flagship at 1 Leicester Square, London, to showcase iconic characters and engage tourists and shoppers across a multi-level store with interactive zones. Systems integrator PAI (appointed by SmartDesign Group) specified a scalable digital signage and audio solution built around BrightSign media players—notably 26 BrightSign LS422 networked players and six LS322 audio devices—to drive more than 40 digital displays, projection elements and touchscreen kiosks.

The deployed solution paired a Pharos control system with BrightSign’s LS422 players (1080p30 playback) and LS322 audio units to synchronize three window video walls (a 24‑screen landscape feature), in‑store video walls, POS screens and projection mapping, while interactive iPad and touchscreen stations added engagement. BrightSign enabled centralized distribution and remote content updates (currently via VPN, with plans to move to the BrightSign Network), delivering continuous, synchronized playback across 40+ screens and a managed content workflow that sustains the immersive retail theatre experience.
