Handy AV creates UK’s first interactive cruise retail store with BrightSign players

Cruise 1st, the cruise holiday provider, opened the UK’s first interactive holiday store in Manchester and commissioned Handy AV to design a mixed office and retail experience. They needed reliable, easy-to-manage media players to deliver synchronized 4K video, interactive touchscreens and window signage—BrightSign XT243 players were chosen to meet that challenge.

Handy AV deployed BrightSign XT243 media players to drive twelve 22” iiyama touchscreens, window displays and a 2x2 iiyama 46” 4K video wall (integrated via a Datapath Fx4 controller), using BrightSign’s H.265 dual-decoding and frame-accurate synchronization for seamless interactive content including Cruise 1st’s Sky TV channel. The BrightSign-powered solution created a sophisticated, engaging store experience, generated positive customer feedback, increased sales versus previous years and helped Handy AV win the Smart Buildings Award 2018 for Best Commercial Integration Project.
