Cellular Sales, the largest Verizon retailer in the United States with more than 560 stores in 28 states, faced outdated in-store signage—printed/backlit lightbox inserts and thousands of DVD players that required shipping new DVDs for every content update—creating high recurring costs and slow response to short-notice promotions. To modernize its retail and corporate displays, Cellular Sales chose BrightSign, deploying BrightSign HD, XD and 4K media players and the BrightSign Network cloud-based networking service.
BrightSign deployed nearly 3,000 players across stores and more than 50 displays at Cellular Sales’ Knoxville headquarters, delivering eight channels managed centrally via BrightSign Network; HQ screens also show news, cafeteria menus and aggregate sales data updated every 90 seconds. The BrightSign solution eliminated printed signage and DVD logistics (offsetting installation costs), enabled instant nationwide updates to match Verizon promotions, made new-store rollouts turnkey, and produced measurable operational savings and faster promotional agility.
