GAME, the UK’s leading video games retailer, needed a way to modernize its in-store experience, better engage gamers, respond immediately to fast-changing promotions and cut operational costs. To achieve this, GAME worked with BrightSign digital signage technology (deployed by integrator Freehand and distributed by Pixels), using BrightSign XD232 and XD1032 media players plus BrightAuthor and the BrightSign Network Enterprise Edition to power dynamic, interactive displays across its estate.
Freehand installed 1,320 BrightSign players across 320 GAME stores (after a 50-store trial), driving multiple Samsung screens per location—including synchronized videowalls in flagships—and Pixels fitted optional Wi‑Fi modules to remove cabling. BrightSign’s players and BSNEE allow centralized scheduling, remote updates and reliable playback, delivering faster campaign turnaround, stronger customer engagement and lower install/operational overheads, with the rollout scaled to all 320 stores and a minimum of four screens per store.
