Barcelona-El Prat Airport sought to improve passenger flow and reduce confusion at busy security checkpoints. BrightSign supplied its Series 3 HD1023 player to power a lifelike virtual assistant—an optical-illusion “real person” installed at the security gates in Terminals T1 and T2B—to greet and instruct travelers before they reach screening.

BrightSign’s HD1023 uses H.265 decoding, a hardware-accelerated HTML5 engine and 1080p60 video to deliver reliable, high-quality playback for the assistant, which provides step-by-step security guidance in Catalán, Castilian Spanish, English, Russian and Chinese. The deployment improved the passenger journey by giving clear, multilingual pre-checkpoint instructions that help travelers arrive prepared and support smoother, more reliable processing at the security checkpoints.
