BrightSign Players Update Signage Communications at UC Irvine

UC Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business needed to modernize campus communications during a major remodeling effort—replacing aging PC-based displays and a manual board listing more than 200 offices with a more reliable, easy-to-update digital signage system. BrightSign provided the solution hardware and software, deploying five BrightSign HD210 networked looping players and one BrightSign HD1010 interactive kiosk to support multiple signage applications across the business school.

BrightSign installed six networked players driving four distinct applications (Experian lobby slideshow, MPAA inter-school news, three SB Building feeds including Reuters and WSJ via SignChannel, and an HD1010 touch-screen directory for 200+ offices). Using BrightSign’s BrightAuthor software and built-in networking, UCI can remotely update content with no extra licenses, eliminated noisy PC infrastructure, cut power and maintenance, and replaced manual directory updates—delivering faster wayfinding and a reliable, expandable digital signage platform.
