Best Buy Canada, a national omnichannel technology retailer, wanted to modernize its in-store experience by adding highly interactive digital signage to roughly 30 flagship experience stores. The retailer’s goal was to create “endless aisle” displays and immersive demo zones (Dolby ATMOS, Smart Home, appliances, ink finding, etc.) that let customers explore products and demos in-store; to meet this challenge they selected BrightSign for the digital signage platform.
To deliver the solution, Convergent Media Systems built interactive experiences on BrightSign’s platform using BrightAuthor and BrightSign XD1033 media players, integrated with Best Buy Canada’s APIs to trigger product demos and real‑time content. BrightSign’s reliable players enabled more than a dozen interactive zones per store and, as of March 2018, approximately 30 Best Buy Canada stores had been retrofitted—helping drive an enhanced shopping experience and earning Best Buy the Retail Innovator of the Year recognition.
