BrightSign delivers advanced showcase for high-tech cycling gear

ODLO, the inventor and European leader in functional sports underwear, needed a high‑end yet cost‑conscious way to educate retail customers and showcase the new padding technology in its cycling undergarments. AV integrator Imaculix designed interactive info towers and chose BrightSign as the non‑PC digital signage solution, deploying BrightSign HD1010 media players and BrightAuthor software to meet ODLO’s requirements for reliability, image quality and simple operation.

BrightSign’s HD1010 players and BrightAuthor enabled a 23‑inch touch kiosk with barcode scanning, a Padding Finder, multilingual content and vibrant 1080p video; the presentation contains close to 3,600 assets supporting 24 products with 5–9 hotspots each and was produced and deployed in three weeks. The BrightSign‑powered prototype debuted successfully at the European OutDoor Fair (July 2010), ODLO plans a retail rollout from March 2011, and the vendor’s solution delivered the desired high quality, interactivity and remote update capability while staying within budget.
