BrightSign and Info Retail Help Tempur-Pedic® Gain Competitive Edge with Experiential Product Demonstration in Retail Showrooms

Tempur-Pedic partnered with BrightSign (and integrator Info Retail) to solve a common retail problem: consumers are often reluctant to lie on mattresses long enough in a showroom to appreciate Tempur-Pedic’s products, and prior PC-based digital signage proved unsustainable. BrightSign’s digital signage platform—deployed using BrightSign HD1010 players—was chosen to provide a stable, low-maintenance way to control an immersive Sleep Experience Center (SEC).

BrightSign customized firmware, scripting and logging to synchronize a 19‑inch interactive touch screen and a 32‑inch presentation screen, trigger head/foot bed controls during video demonstrations, and manage lighting and media engagement. The BrightSign solution was installed in 400+ U.S. showrooms (two HD1010 units per location, 800+ units total), boosted dwell time and product interaction to improve purchase likelihood, and delivered savings in upfront and maintenance costs versus the previous PC-based approach.
