Sound Oxygen, the largest independent respiratory equipment provider in Washington State with 12 offices and roughly $1M billed monthly, was struggling with patient payments that routinely took 90+ days to arrive. These delays drained staff time, strained patient relationships and hurt cash flow and reputation, prompting leadership to seek a better way to manage patient collections.

In June 2015 Sound Oxygen implemented Brightree Patient Collections AutoPAY, combined with staff training and incentives to drive enrollment. Automated charging on the due date eliminated manual follow-ups and sped collections: patient revenue more than doubled (a 117% increase) within six months, roughly 80–90% of eligible patients were on AutoPAY, patient counts grew ~40%, and the company achieved steadier cash flow, reduced collection effort and improved staff and patient experience.
