The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) needed to modernize its outdated Parline database, a global platform for parliamentary data used by over 180 nations. Their legacy Drupal system was slow, unsupported, and could not track historical data points over time. BrightMinded was engaged to revamp the platform and create a scalable, time-series database solution.

BrightMinded migrated the data to MongoDB and built a high-performance REST API using Fastify. They delivered a bespoke data-entry system with Next.js and a multilingual frontend with WordPress. This new architecture provided improved data visualization, administration, and accessibility for researchers. BrightMinded's solution established a foundation for future data contributions from member parliaments and continues to provide ongoing support and hosting for the IPU.
