Washoe County, Nevada — which includes Reno, Sparks and Lake Tahoe and grew more than 5% during the pandemic to about 493,000 residents — needed a way for its Community Services Department to manage rising service demands. The Operations Division was juggling five different work‑order systems, making it difficult to consolidate tasks, prioritize projects, and make data‑driven decisions.
The county implemented Brightly’s Asset Essentials and Predictor as a cloud‑based single source of truth to track labor, parts and materials and prioritize work orders. The tools improved communication and decision making, revealed that 25% of incoming work orders were carpentry‑related (versus 10% completed), which supported adding two carpenters, and enabled creation of an infrastructure health card used to win capital funding approvals.
