School District Utilizes Utility Data to Design New School

Rogers Public Schools in Rogers, Arkansas, serves about 14,400 students across 27 buildings. As the district grew and built a second high school, administrators needed a better way to track and monitor energy use and consumption across campuses.

They implemented Dude Solutions Energy Management and hired energy manager Dan Caley, who loaded two years of data, created custom school- and utility-level reports, and launched a behavior-based energy program that engaged staff and supported targeted projects like a lighting retrofit. Over four years the district cut annual energy consumption by 32%, reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 5,698 MtCO2e (equivalent to removing 1,187 cars), and used the data to design a new, more energy-efficient school projected to operate at $0.61 per square foot.
