Royal Centre Harnesses Brightly Software and Services to Meet Rigorous Sustainability Targets

Royal Centre, a 780,000 sq ft Class A office and retail tower in downtown Vancouver managed by Warrington PCI Management, faced the twin challenges of staying competitive with newer buildings and meeting stringent new city sustainability bylaws (energy/carbon reporting from 2024, heating-fuel limits from 2026, and zero heating emissions by 2040). As an older but high-demand asset, leadership needed reliable energy data and a plan to improve performance, reduce emissions, and pursue industry sustainability certifications.

Warrington implemented Brightly Stream in 2016 and enrolled in Brightly’s Operational Analytics services, adding submetering, real-time anomaly detection, and a carbon transition feasibility study to prioritize projects.
