Golden Plains Shire Council creates single source of truth for asset data and maintenance by migrating to cloud

Golden Plains Shire Council, a fast‑growing rural LGA in Victoria with an asset portfolio valued at about $620M (including 208 buildings and extensive road networks), needed a single source of truth for its asset data. Information was fragmented across multiple systems and spreadsheets, causing duplication, extra work, data loss risk and limited visibility into asset condition and lifecycle impacts, undermining prudent 10‑year investment and maintenance planning.

The council implemented the Brightly Assetic cloud EAM and Brightly Predictor to consolidate asset registers, standardise data and manage maintenance and capital planning in one platform. As a result Golden Plains now prevents data duplication, sees planned and reactive maintenance across its building portfolio (including clear defect completion targets), uncovers funding gaps and operational priorities (for example septic system costs), and has better staff buy‑in and insight to guide future roads, drainage and renewal planning.
