A Brightly Software Case Study
Dorset County Council, which manages highways across the largely tourist-driven southern coast of England, faced slow, paper-based processes that left staff with poor visibility of road conditions and street furniture (drains, signs, gullies and verges). Resident reports were logged on paper at depots, engineers had to collect and return paperwork, and managers lacked timely mapping and reporting to prioritize work.
The council deployed Brightly’s Confirm with Workzone and Connect modules so residents can report issues on a map, inspectors get instant alerts, and field crews access and upload work via mobile devices. The change eliminated travel and paperwork, allowed three administrative staff to be redeployed, and cut record-entry times from six–eight weeks to about 45 seconds—delivering faster investigations, clearer mapping, real-time dashboards and markedly higher productivity.
