International Transportation Company ReducesAbstraction Costs

The procurement department in a large transportation holding company employs a company‐wide SAP ERP system with a contract management module. The contract management system was not being used because it was too timeconsuming to get the necessary data from their 2,000 active contracts into the system. The process was manual, making it far too difficult and expensive. So they turned to automated abstraction to simplify the entire process, abstracting over 30 different attributes such as indemnity, dispute resolutions, assignment and audit rights, three times faster and at one‐quarter the cost using manual methods. The data was uploaded and they can nowfully utilize the contract management module within their ERP system.
