RISLA (Rhode Island Student Loan Authority) is a nonprofit, state-based education lender that needed to better engage a highly seasonal audience, make more use of its content, and convert visitors into leads despite limited staff. Although overall traffic and advertising were strong, blog visits and lead conversion lagged, so RISLA sought a low‑maintenance personalization solution that could surface the right content to the right visitor.
They implemented BrightInfo’s automated content-scanning and personalization widgets (integrated with HubSpot), using entrance/exit widgets, seasonal targeting and A/B testing to recommend contextually relevant offers. Within weeks all content was being used to personalize experiences; year‑one content consumption rose 39% and lead generation grew 40% the following year. Overall metrics improved substantially: content visits +43.4%, time on site +67.7%, conversions +38.8%, and bounce rate down 21%.
