Case Study: SEGULA Technologies achieves GDPR-compliant EU-border data transfer with brighter AI Precision Blur

A brighter AI Case Study

Preview of the Segula Technologies Case Study

How SEGULA Technologies Used Precision Blur to Enable GDPR-Compliant Data Transfer Across EU-Border

SEGULA Technologies, an industry-leading engineering group, faced the challenge of transferring large volumes of video data from its German data center to an OEM client outside the EU within 12 weeks while ensuring full GDPR compliance. Manually anonymizing the personally identifiable information (PII) in the footage was impossible due to the timeframe, yet failing to properly anonymize the data would risk multi-million euro fines. They partnered with privacy tech vendor brighter AI to solve this challenge using its Precision Blur service.

brighter AI implemented its AI-based Precision Blur solution to automatically and accurately detect and anonymize faces and license plates in the video data. To overcome technical transfer difficulties, the data was anonymized physically via hard drives. Within the 12-week deadline, brighter AI processed over 8,000 hours of video, enabling a fully GDPR-compliant data transfer. This solution saved thousands of hours of manual work, eliminated the risk of fines, and allowed SEGULA Technologies to deliver high-quality data to its client on time.
