CSI S.p.A., an Italy-based provider of automotive testing and certification services, faced a challenge when needing to transfer video data containing personal identifiers from vehicle tests to a client in China, a country without an EU data protection adequacy decision. To share this data for ADAS testing without violating GDPR, they required a solution for highly accurate anonymization of faces and license plates. They turned to brighter AI for a solution.

brighter AI implemented its Redact software, a scalable cloud-based tool for image and video redaction. This allowed CSI to successfully anonymize over 400 hours of video for GDPR-compliant transfer. The solution's performance and stability were crucial, enabling a partnership that would otherwise be impossible. CSI has since planned to anonymize hundreds more hours of footage and continues to use brighter AI for ongoing projects.
