South by Southwest (SXSW) has grown from a local music festival into a 10-day international event covering music, film and digital innovation, but needed a scalable way to stream thousands of sessions and deliver original content year-round across mobile, desktop and OTT. The challenge was managing and distributing high-quality live and on-demand video for multiple platforms while reducing expensive onsite encoding hardware and expanding global reach.

SXSW implemented Brightcove Video Cloud, Brightcove Live and Brightcove Gallery to power SXSW On and its Roku channel, enabling centralized management and delivery of responsive video experiences. The solution allowed SXSW to stream more events with lower on-site equipment costs, reach tens of thousands of fans across devices, and provide continuous, year-round engagement that extends the festival’s audience and influence.
