A Brightcove Case Study
Tennis Australia faced significant challenges hosting the 2021 Australian Open due to international travel restrictions and time zone differences for remote qualifying matches. To overcome these obstacles and create seamless video experiences for fans and media, they turned to their existing vendor, Brightcove, leveraging the Brightcove Live and Video Cloud platforms.
The solution involved Brightcove's technology to create a centralized virtual Media Hub, providing global media with live access to all 16 courts and press conferences. This resulted in 1,200 broadcast journalists and 475 media representatives successfully covering the event remotely. Brightcove also enabled new inclusive experiences, like a spatial audio stream for the visually impaired, and reliably scaled to support a record 98 matches streamed in a single day.
