Seven West Media, a leading Australian integrated media company, sought to pivot to a total video enterprise. Their challenge was to incrementally monetize all live stream content and independently measure each asset to power a TV Everywhere strategy. They partnered with Brightcove to address this.
Brightcove provided its platform, including server-side ad insertion (SSAI), transcoding, and encoding features, to build a robust network. This solution enabled SWM to launch a 24/7 live stream operation and later its own OTT service, 7plus, efficiently and cost-effectively. Brightcove's technology supported massive live events without viewability issues. Results included nearly three million unique monthly visitors within twelve weeks of launch, with standout events like the Australian Open peaking at 3.3 million simultaneous viewers.
