Mongol TV Introduces Mongolia’s First-Ever OTT Service

Mongol TV, founded in 2009, is Mongolia’s leading private broadcaster with roughly 25% of the national TV market. Facing declining ad revenue as advertisers migrated to digital platforms and a growing demand from Mongolians abroad who mainly consume content on mobile devices, the company needed a new way to monetize its library and extend reach beyond traditional free-to-air broadcasting.

Mongol TV launched ORI TV, the country’s first OTT service, using Brightcove’s OTT Flow to deliver 2,000+ hours of subscription-based content across web, mobile, Chromecast and Apple TV—going live in eight weeks. Within five months ORI TV attracted over 5,000 subscribers (about half living abroad), boosted engagement and industry standing, and set a roadmap to double subscribers by improving payment options, analytics-driven programming, and targeted marketing.
