FreightWaves, the “Bloomberg of freight,” provides real‑time news and data for the global logistics industry and typically hosts a 2,500‑person annual customer event. When COVID‑19 made an in‑person conference impossible, the company faced the challenge of keeping a multi‑day audience engaged and preserving the event’s production quality and reach.

Working with Brightcove Video Cloud and a dedicated production team, FreightWaves treated the virtual conference like a cable TV network, streaming 85 presentations across three days. The pivot drove massive engagement—92,000 unique visitors, 250,000 streamed sessions and over 5 million minutes viewed—expanding reach roughly 36× versus the prior in‑person event and cementing a virtual‑first strategy going forward.
