How Benesse Corporation Reduced Costs and Doubled Efficiency

Benesse Corporation, which runs distance learning services for children, needed to move its “Kodomo Challenge” video materials from DVD to online delivery as more families no longer used DVD players. The company also wanted a stable streaming solution that would work well on TV devices and support a better viewing experience for parents and children. Brightcove’s Video Cloud was chosen as the platform to replace the previous distribution method.

Using Brightcove’s Video Cloud, Benesse shifted all teaching videos online, enabling more flexible delivery and reducing distribution costs versus DVDs. The company doubled the number of videos it could provide, moved from monthly to even weekly updates, and gained viewing data to better understand customer needs. Brightcove also helped deliver a stable streaming environment, and the service was well received for mobile viewing, ease of use, and fewer distractions than free video platforms.
