Harness Racing Victoria, which oversees 28 harness-racing clubs across Victoria, faced declining popularity and an aging fan base that threatened the sport’s long-term viability. The organization aimed to boost wagering, create a more engaging digital viewing experience, and connect with 18–35 year olds to reverse audience decline.
Partnering with Brightcove, HRV relaunched TrotsVision using Cloud Playout, Live and Video Cloud to deliver behind-the-scenes content, driver profiles, on-demand viewing and instant social clips, plus a searchable replay library with race-data APIs for staff and fans. The results: views rose from 54,894 (Aug 2021) to 83,292 (Jan 2022), the 18–35 audience grew 250%, overall audience grew 76%, and the platform created new efficiency and monetization opportunities.
