Hope Channel is the international, nonprofit television network of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, operating 13 channels and companion websites with original programming on spirituality, health, education and family. As their online library and live programming grew, the small in‑house team needed a scalable, fully integrated video platform with powerful APIs to support VOD, live streaming and complex metadata across all 13 properties.
They implemented Brightcove Video Cloud, whose dynamic APIs and custom metadata let the team build a VOD site in under two days, organize 150 initial videos, integrate product links and social features, and add Akamai-powered live streaming with automatic publishing and transcoding. The result was major time and cost savings, improved content management and discovery, and strong engagement—viewers average 22 minutes per session (25% watch >30 minutes) and total weekly view time now equals nearly two years of minutes.
