Dutch Railways’ Multichannel Narrowcasting Platform For Employees Helps Keep The Trains And The Company On Track

Dutch Railways, the Netherlands’ principal passenger operator running 4,800 scheduled trains and serving 1.1 million passengers daily with over 26,000 employees, needed a scalable way to keep staff informed. Early narrowcasting relied on a mix of smaller technologies that limited capability and reach, so the company sought one central platform for corporate communications.

Working with Prisma IT and Brightcove, Dutch Railways implemented the Alliant® multi‑channel publication platform integrated with Brightcove Video Cloud to deliver video and other content across intranet, mobile apps, social, newsletters and narrowcasting screens. The solution enabled targeted, department‑specific messaging and live streaming (e.g., a corporate press conference), improved production and distribution from its Utrecht studio, and delivered more efficient, device‑agnostic employee engagement plus new abilities to analyze and monetize video streams.
