CareerBuilder.com, the largest online job site in the U.S. with more than 23 million unique visitors, 1 million jobs and 32 million resumes, faced limits from a third‑party, homegrown video player that offered little control, no analytics, limited sharing and poor customization—features corporate advertisers and users increasingly expected. Building an in‑house platform would have required significant capital, media servers and development time the team didn’t want to commit to.
In May 2009 CareerBuilder implemented Brightcove Video Cloud, using batch upload to migrate its library and then leveraging customizable playlists and creative player options to launch new video experiences and advertising products. The result: video consumption doubled, video revenue doubled (and was expected to double again), and production quality and variety improved as CareerBuilder expanded video into more of its offerings.
