Brightcove Provides Freedom for Mobile Expansion

Freedom Interactive, the digital arm of Freedom Communications, manages more than 80 news and information websites and needed to expand its mobile and tablet reach to grow video views, site traffic and ad revenue. Having already rolled out mobile sites and device-specific video delivery for iPhone and Android, the company planned to extend support to additional mobile platforms and the emerging tablet market while simplifying cross-site video management.

Freedom implemented Brightcove’s APIs and App SDKs (mobile-ready encoding, device detection and mobile Web player templates) and integrated Brightcove into its CMS to standardize players, sharing and metadata for SEO. That rollout enabled the company to launch dozens of mobile and iPad apps, double display and pre-roll ad impressions, expand ad revenue opportunities and improve search visibility.
