TVO is Ontario’s public educational media organization behind TVO.org, TVOKids.com and TVOParents.com, focused on using multimedia to support learning and civic engagement. As online video consumption climbed, TVO needed an online video platform to manage a growing library, speed publishing and extend broadcast content across web, mobile and connected-TV platforms to reach new audiences.
TVO implemented the Brightcove online video platform (supported by its IdeaShaker innovation lab) to enable fast uploads, live streaming, smart player distribution and apps for connected-TV and mobile. The result: averaging nearly 1 million video views per month, dwell time rising to about 12 minutes per session, increased sharing and site traffic, faster publishing workflows, and successful cross-platform live streaming of flagship programs.
