Brightcove Helps papagei.com Revolutionize Language Learning Augmented Reality Drives Teaching Process

papagei.com is Europe’s largest video language-learning portal, with over 10,000 original video components and 32,000 interactive exercises featuring licensed TV, news and movie content. When Germany’s biggest schoolbook publisher, Cornelsen, asked papagei to create an augmented reality app that links textbook images to relevant videos (with integrated dictionaries and multi-screen delivery), the companies faced the technical challenge of merging a large print-based curriculum with a comprehensive online video library.

papagei implemented Brightcove Video Cloud for a scalable, adaptable, integrated solution—using its developer API, customizable player, multi-bitrate streaming, real-time subtitles and fast transcoding (with Karbon integration) to wrap language-learning tools around each video.
