Brightcove Helps Avid Create Customized Education Features

Avid Technology, a long‑time maker of professional video and audio production tools, needed a better way to deliver interactive, on‑demand video and to future‑proof its web and webcast offerings. After building a DIY Flash webcast with chat, the team sought an online video platform that could provide advanced customization, precise in‑app linking to specific tutorial moments, mobile (iOS) playback, and improved organization of a growing video library.

In March 2012 Avid selected Brightcove Video Cloud, deploying customized playlist players and URL parameters so 700 unique links map to seven language playlists and start playback at exact timestamps. Brightcove also enabled tagging and user upload workflows, migration from FLV for iPad compatibility, and archived, navigable webcast Q&A. The result was increased iPad views, deeper community engagement, better video asset management, and a flexible, portable solution for further custom features.
