Brightcove Adds Bouquet of Features to Winery Website Revamp

Chateau Montelena, a historic Calistoga winery founded in 1882 and famous for its success in the 1976 Paris blind tasting, wanted its redesigned website to feel more personal and welcoming. During the 2009 redesign the team identified video as essential and sought a versatile, customizable platform that would blend seamlessly with the new site and convey the winery’s personality.

They implemented the Brightcove online video platform and launched the revamped site in April 2010 with interactive features—scrolling photo collages, short “video winks,” virtual tours and winemaker profiles—that improved production quality and content variety. The site now averages about 1,000 video views per month, has grown its Facebook following, enables easy social sharing without distracting player branding, and presents a more dynamic, inviting experience.
