Cars.com, the automotive marketplace founded in 1998, needed a way to manage a growing legacy video library and monetize it across its site. As its content expanded, the team wanted a system to organize videos, publish them to articles and vehicle detail pages, and support pre-roll advertising for OEM partners, so it turned to Brightcove for video management and monetization.
Brightcove helped Cars.com automate publishing with tagging, Smart Playlists, and Brightcove Gallery, while the IMA plugin and GAM integration enabled direct pre-roll ad sales with placement controls. The result was more efficient distribution of content, detailed analytics for advertisers, and over 3,000 videos published on the site, driving increasing organic views and contributing to annual digital ad revenue.
