Total Books, run by Buhir Rafiq, needed to move off disjointed spreadsheets and manual processes to save time, improve client communications and strengthen compliance. To do this they adopted Bright’s AccountancyManager (AM) to replace clunky systems and streamline practice management across onboarding, client messaging, billing and audits.
Bright delivered a suite of AM features—pre‑created email templates and canned messages, a document and e‑sign portal, automated reminders, risk assessments, time tracking and a client timeline—that automated repetitive work and centralised data. The changes saved tangible time (e‑signing alone reclaimed about 1 hour per client across 130 clients = ~130 hours), removed dozens of manual reminder emails (e.g. ~60 reminders avoided for 20 VAT clients), helped recover over £1,000 of previously unbilled WIP, impressed ICAEW auditors with documented risk checks, and freed “hundreds of hours” to redeploy into running the business—all delivered using Bright’s AccountancyManager.
