A Brigade Society Case Study
Death in the Afternoon is a high-volume, lunch-focused restaurant with a seasonal patio that expands to 110 seats and can serve about 150 guests in under two hours. Their challenge was poor communication between servers and the kitchen—frequent customizations required clarifications that added roughly five minutes per ticket and often doubled ticket production times—and inventory counts were only terminal-specific, forcing constant reboots. They addressed this by adopting Brigade Society’s POS solution (Brigade POS).
Brigade Society implemented two key features: intuitive back-office modifier setup plus on-the-fly custom modifiers on the iPad, and a real-time quantity count system that syncs across all devices (managers set counts in two clicks and sold‑out items are greyed out). The result was faster, more accurate order communication, elimination of terminal-reboot inventory issues and out-of-stock mistakes, and removal of the extra clarification delays that had been prolonging ticket times during peak service.
