How Gardon Construction plans their workforce more effectively with Bridgit Bench

Gardon Construction is a 50-person, family-run general contractor in Winnipeg (founded 1984) that completes 20–25 projects a year at about $1M each. Until 2015–16 the company relied on Excel, paper plans and “gut” decisions, which created poor communication, blurred audit trails and time-consuming, backward-looking resource meetings—Olafson says they spent about an hour a day simply refreshing where everyone was and were often chasing data.

To fix this they implemented Bridgit Bench as a single source of truth, using features like an expanded project Gantt and linked personnel/project data. The tool made planning predictive (three- to six-month look-ahead), improved communication and organization, cut bi-weekly manpower meeting time by 50%, saved roughly 20 hours a month (about an hour a day), and freed managers to focus on customers, contractors and faster project delivery with greater confidence.
