Chicago Children's Museum brings playful learning to 2 neighborhoods with Bridgewater Studio

Bridgewater Studio partnered with the Chicago Children's Museum and Metropolitan Family Services to transform everyday public spaces into playful learning opportunities for children and their families. The challenge was to promote early math learning in community areas where families naturally gather, such as a neighborhood laundromat and a community garden.

The solution implemented by Bridgewater Studio involved fabricating and installing themed furniture, interactive elements, engaging graphics, and a local artist's mural for a laundromat in the Little Village neighborhood. For a community garden in Aurora, the vendor fabricated permanent outdoor interactives, including custom benches, birdhouses, and specially formed concrete tables and stepping stones. As a result, Bridgewater Studio helped reimagine these urban spaces as engaging educational experiences for children and caregivers.
