Homerton NHS Integrates Image Data into its EPR Via Next Generation VNA

Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust faced the challenge of integrating its diverse medical image data into a single, accessible system. Following the end of a national PACS contract, the Trust needed a new primary data repository and sought to connect this archive with its Cerner Millennium Electronic Patient Record (EPR) as part of its broader digital strategy.

To meet this need, the Trust implemented BridgeHead Software’s HealthStore™ Independent Clinical Archive (ICA). This solution consolidated radiology images into the EPR, allowing clinicians to view all patient data from a single point. BridgeHead’s system streamlined clinical workflows, saving staff valuable time retrieving information and enabling more efficient, prompt patient care, with plans to expand the archive to include cardiology and other departmental images.
