Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust migrates 27TB of radiology data with BridgeHead Software

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was looking for a platform to centrally store and protect all its clinical images and data in an independent clinical archive (ICA). Their challenge was to share this information across departments and with neighboring healthcare organizations, making it accessible to clinicians whenever and wherever it was needed. They partnered with BridgeHead Software to address this.

BridgeHead Software implemented its HealthStore vendor neutral archive (VNA) to migrate 27TB of radiology data, equating to 1.7 million studies, into a non-proprietary format. This solution laid the foundation for a Single Patient Record and ensured the data was fully protected and available. A project to migrate cardiology data is also underway, with plans to eventually include all the hospital's medical and non-medical images and data into the central archive.
