Horizon Health Network engages 20 patients and researchers with Bridgeable to expand clinical trial access

Horizon Health Network, a healthcare authority in New Brunswick, faced the challenge of improving access to clinical trials for residents who experienced difficulties traveling to traditional research sites. To address these geographic and accessibility barriers, they partnered with the design firm Bridgeable to explore the potential of Decentralized Clinical Trials (DCTs).

Bridgeable employed a human-centered approach, conducting interviews and workshops with potential trial participants, caregivers, and researchers. This research informed the development of key experience principles, a set of high-priority platform features, and a future-state delivery pathway. The project empowered Horizon to make informed decisions with a unified vision, providing a deep understanding of user needs to guide the future development of a DCT platform that aims to modernize clinical trial delivery and increase patient representation for approximately 500 studies annually.
