A Bricsys Case Study
Nittetsu Texeng, an engineering and steel‑plant design‑build firm within the Nippon Steel group, faced a fragmented CAD environment after merging several companies—using six different 2D CAD packages—which threatened higher subscription costs and inconsistent workflows. To standardize tools, control licensing costs and improve interoperability between 2D, 3D and BIM workflows, Nittetsu Texeng evaluated solutions and selected Bricsys’ BricsCAD.
Bricsys implemented BricsCAD with network licensing to track license usage and reduce subscription overhead, providing a familiar interface that eased user transition and high‑speed performance that Nittetsu Texeng says has increased productivity. As a result, the company is consolidating 2D/3D work into BricsCAD, planning to expand licenses, and pursuing BIM and advanced technologies like 3D laser scan import and VR with Bricsys as its partner.
